Hello everyone!
Things are moving along quite nicely for the next issue. We're sure that you're going to love not only the artists we have lined up, but the seriously cool prizes we have in store for you. This next issue will mark our first real contests, where you have to actually participate to win.
Also, we have a couple of announcements today:
When we first began the magazine and took polls, asking what people wanted to see, there was a great response for fan art. However, we've had almost no participation, so starting with the next issue, fan art will no longer be a regular section. We WILL still print your art work when we have enough submissions, but you'll no longer see it in every issue.
Also, starting with the next issue, we'll have a reader participation question. We'll pose a question to you all, and you can reply with your thoughts, photos, etc, and we'll print selections from the responses we receive in t he next issue. Should be great fun!
Lastly, we're growing! This is great news for all of us, as a larger magazine with a better known name can not only get bigger artists for you, but it puts us that much closer to our goal of eventually sponsoring Japanese music concerts! BUT, we really need some help. We're looking to fill the positions listed below. These positions are all "telecommuting" positions, so feel free to apply no matter where you live. If you think you meet the requirements, please drop us a line! While all positions are volunteer only, we are more than happy to provide letters of reference, or work with a teacher for extra credit/community service points.
MySpace administrator: For this position, we are seeking an individual with plenty of MySpace knowledge to update our page, possibly redesign our layout, and most importantly, keep our friend's list growing. Position would require between 5 - 10 hours a week to begin, then would decrease to approximately 4 hours a week.
Marketing Intern: We're seeking a college marketing student to help write press releases, advertising copy, and sales pitches. If you've had at least 2 semesters of marketing courses, we're looking for you! Hours for this position would vary greatly, but no more than 5 hours a week should be necessary.
Graphic artist: We need help designing banners, ads, buttons, and all sorts of little graphics. You do not need to be a college student, but we will require samples of your work. Hours will vary, but should not exceed 10 hours a week during the busiest weeks, and none at all during others.
Translators: We are seeking both English to Japanese and Japanese to English translators for help with interviews and basic correspondence. JLPT level 2 or better.
If you are interested in any of the above, please send your resume or qualifications to submissions@ five-for.com
